  • Can my child try a class before enrolling?
    Yes! We offer trial classes for all new students, subject to availability. This allows your child to experience the class before you commit to enrolling.
  • What age groups do you cater to?
    Our after school classes currently run classes for children aged 4–11, grouped by age and ability to ensure everyone learns at their own pace. Private lessons cater for all ages up to adult.
  • What should my child wear to class?
    What should my child wear to class? Uniform is our purple leotard or tshirt and leggings with tap shoes for the tap section of class. Ballet/jazz shoes and dance appropriate warm up layers are optional. Uniform can be ordered from us directly.
  • What age groups are the holiday camps designed for?
    Our holiday camps cater to children aged 4–11. We group them by age for specific activities, ensuring a balanced mix of age-appropriate play, breaks, and performance opportunities.
  • Is prior dance experience required to join the camps?
    No prior dance experience is necessary! Our camps are inclusive and welcoming to all children, whether they are seasoned dancers or trying it for the first time. We group children and plan activities to ensure everyone feels comfortable and challenged.
  • Can I book just one day of the camp?
    Yes, single-day bookings are often available, but spaces fill quickly! We recommend booking early, especially for full weeks and get in touch with us for any special requirements.
  • What should my child bring?
    A packed lunch (no nuts), water bottle, clothes they can move in and warm layers for outside breaks. We’ll provide all materials and props for activities.
  • Do the children get to perform in a show?
    Yes! We hold winter and summer shows where all our regular students can take part. It’s a great chance for them to showcase their progress and gain confidence on stage.
  • Is there an extra cost to be in the show?
    There’s usually a £20 participation fee to cover costs such as costumes, staffing, technical equipment and venue hire and tickets are £6. We try keep costs as low as possible.
  • How do I book tickets?
    Tickets can be booked online at https://www.northlondonstars.com/showtickets . Tickets must be booked in advance and are not available on the door. Adults and children over 4 will need a tickets. Babes in arms are free.
  • How do rehearsals for shows work?
    Rehearsals take place during normal class times, with an extra rehearsal on the day to get used to the stage space.
  • What are StageSchool graded exams and how do they work?
    StageSchool graded exams are performance-based solo exams in dance and musical theatre, similar to LAMDA or instrumental music exams. They provide structured progression and national recognition, including UCAS points for grades 1-8. Students receive tailored 1-to-1 coaching during or after school to prepare for these exams.
  • What dance programs do you offer in schools and nurseries?
    We provide a comprehensive range of in-house dance programs, including Baby Ballet classes in nurseries and Early Years settings, PE curriculum dance, creative enrichment classes, 1-to-1 lessons for StageSchool graded exams (grades 1-8), and competitive dance troupe training for performances and events.
